Stab Dell With a Fork
Saturday, February 23, 2008
I was wrong to blame Windows Vista so harshly. After reformatting my computer to escape the BSoD, it worked for exactly 6 days before it showed that the blame should be co-assigned to Vista and Dell.Ensuring conversation with Dell tech support:
Me: The wireless internet on my computer is broken.
Tech: Hmm. You have to be near a wireless signal.
Me: The internet hasn’t been working for TWO WEEKS.
Tech: Well, have you been near a wireless signal?
Me: This is a company!!!
Tech: And you’re sure that other people have a signal? A wireless signal?
Me: Yes.
Tech: Wireless though?
Me: YUH.
Tech: Like you can see people right now? Using laptops?
57 minutes later, I refuse to do any more worthless troubleshooting.
Tech: Sounds like you need a new wireless card.
Me: Yeah. How long does that take to ship?
Tech: Well, I’d like to send you one, but our system here at Dell is down.
I'm not kidding. Go buy a Mac.
