CYBERLAND MOVIES -- I've been trying to figure out how to put Yosemite photos up on this thing, but what can I say, my HTML skills are only mediocre. And Peetie is busy.

So in the meantime, I make a very rare, non-funny recommendation to everyone that reads this. There is a documentary on the web about some less-known facts of 9-11 that needs way more attention than it is receiving. I think each and every person not only should see it, but needs to see it. And even if you're the type that doesn't really care... hey, FREE MOVIE!

http://www.loosechange911.com -- click on the link in the middle of the page.

It's controversial content, so I won't make any opinions here... but please make one for yourself. Come back to the blog to leave comments, I'd want to hear what you think.

Comments:
Loose Change 2nd Edition is an inspiring effort by young guys in their mid to early twenties. This is really what being young is about: fighting for our future. Fighting for justice. We're young and have the energy.

Its amazing how since 9/11/2001 there has been very little investigation. We should care. In the 60's the youth voiced themselves in a way to echo for eternity. We can do the same too. This is a real cause to fight for: Re-Open 9/11!

a well done documentary, definitely worth watching in its own right...

but so much more than that... a call to arms. I'm sick of being ashamed of my country. I want to be proud of America, dammit! We need Ghandi... Nonviolent revolution... peaceful protests... fighting fear with love.

Who has the time? Who has the energy? Who will rally us together, get us off our apathetic butts, and get us moving? Where is Martin Luther King Jr. when you really need him?

my take: I don't really but it 100%, but I also don't really buy the government's story 100% either. The only thing I have now is lots of questions, no actual judgment.

You can get some answers at screwloosechange (www.ccdominoes.com/lc/LooseChangeGuide.html), but I also don't buy into some of their explanations 100% either.

Philllll!!! >_<;; I'm so so sad. If it makes you feel better, that is totally something I would have done.

I think it's a "documentary" written by people who are desperately seeking facts to support their conspiracy theories, yet are willing to conveniently leave out facts that don't support their views. Are these guys objectively looking at the facts and trying to seek out the truth, and then conclude that there's a giant conspiracy theory? No, they go in WANTING to find 'evidence' that 9/11 was the work of our government and selectively pick out tidbits here and there to support their unjustifiable theory. For example, they spend so much time going over how the speed of the plane alone was not enough to bring down the towers, so there must have been something else. Then they say how the temperature of the flames alone was not enough to bring down the towers, so there must have been something else. But they never look at what actually happened--the fact that all of these situations which they are looking at in isolation actually occurred simultaneously, which has a VERY different impact than any tiny portion alone.

Fighting fear with love??? Hey, when Iran and North Korea start hitting us and our allies with nukes, do you think we should just stand around the target zones, treat the destruction as a giant campfire and hold hands while singing Kumbaya??

Jackie,
That's a fair point. There is a website that counters the arguments presented in this video called Screw Loose Change that might be interesting for those who would like to find counter-arguments on the whole thing. Either way, it's good to hear from you on this... you're a good balance for the rest of my friends, who I suspect would fall under the category of Dirty Hippies by your definitions. In their defense though, I should say that most of them do shower on a semi-regular basis, and only rarely do they have any fleas. :P
Phil

Nah, the people I call "dirty hippies" tend to be apathetic, at least you all have an opinion one way or the other. And I'm glad your friends don't get fleas very often, my friend's dog had them and the poor thing seemed pretty miserable.

No, I don't have a facebook. This blog is my web presence, and if you want to reach me, it connects to my email.

Right now, I live in the bay area, but I tend to move around a lot. Staying in one place makes me so restless.
